Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

My name is Jake Dodge, and I am the Principal for 1st through 5th grades at Wahpeton Elementary School. Our school is home to over 70 faculty and staff members, and we proudly serve 450 students.

As a Schoolwide Title I School, we receive federal funding to support the diverse needs of our students. Over the past four years, we have implemented significant changes to enhance student learning, including:

iPads for all students in 1st and 2nd grades
Laptops for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
Classroom Amplification Systems (Surround Sound) for all regular education classrooms
A $1.2 million Literacy Grant to drive systematic changes in our literacy initiative
Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) to help all students succeed
A strong focus on student learning and grade-level standards to guide instruction
Our Peer Ambassador Program, which nurtures future leaders
Low class sizes ranging from 17 to 22 students per classroom
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum
Implementation of the Greater Math Grant

I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff, who ensure that every student receives an excellent education and personalized support throughout the year.
